STOLEN NOTES tells the story of a mysterious, solitary male bee deep in the Amazon rainforest. Born without a scent of his own, he spends his life composing one, stealing fragrant notes from the orchids, woods and fruits around him. The forest becomes his perfumery, each stolen note part of a signature that is his alone.

What began as a study of a group of rare scented orchids quickly changed protagonists.

The very unlikely subject of this fragrance does not produce a perfume of his own… so he steals it.

The male orchid bee flies from flower to flower, not for their nectar, but to gather perfume – refining his own personal composition.

His solitary life is spent perfecting an identity made from a careful arrangement of “borrowed” wonders.

Selecting, collecting, and slowly becoming his own composition.

In his own words

For months, I researched the scented orchids of the Amazon—fascinating beings that had evolved ingenious ways of using perfume to survive. Yet wherever I looked, the same bee kept appearing. At first, I ignored it. It wasn’t the subject of my research. But eventually, it won me over.

Born without a scent of its own, it spends its life gathering fragrant souvenirs from others, composing a perfume that becomes its identity. There was something deeply familiar in that: the way we, too, borrow from the world around us to become ourselves. I had set out to study orchids and instead, found a fellow perfumer.

Every 50 ml arrives with a sealed 2 ml of the same narrative. Open the sample first; if the story is not yours, return the unopened bottle within 14 days.

Can it be gift-wrapped?

Yes. Choose gift wrapping in the bag and add a message: it is wrapped by hand in Geneva with a handwritten card.
