The Story

8 mars 1921

To find inspiration for this fragrance, the Créateur Olfactif visited Le Khédive, a house of fine hand-rolled cigarettes in Geneva.

He was received by the factory supervisor, who spoke with great pride about their exceptional quality, their remarkable production, and the fact that they supplied royal courts across the world.

Then he was shown the tobacco: spicy, fresh, with notes of cardamom and saffron.

“Freshly cracked cardamom!”

It was all very impressive. Yet, the Créateur Olfactif sensed that the real story was elsewhere.

Across the room, women sat at long tables, rolling cigarettes by hand in a strange and beautiful choreography.

Leaf, Paper, Turn.

And just like that, the fragrance took form.

When going through the archives of the city of Geneva, I came across an old black and white photo showing rows of women rolling cigarettes by hand, one of them glancing at the camera. I was captivated and needed to know more.
